What is INTP like?

You question assumptions and want to test for yourself whether the logic holds up. Time can slip away while you rearrange the hypotheses you've come up with.

You value sound reasoning over titles, and in discussions you point out contradictions no matter who you're talking to. Detailed planning and keeping track of deadlines can be a struggle.

Common traits

Typical strengths

  • Can question assumptions and offer other possibilities
  • Quick to understand complex systems
  • Judges by logic, not by someone's position
  • Can dig deep on your own

Common stumbling blocks

  • The deadline arrives before your thinking comes together
  • Skips explanations and jumps ahead in conversation
  • Tasks outside your interests stall
  • Your feedback can come across as harsh
